Hivemind Times Issue #90
Summer vibin' all issue long
Welcome To The Hivemind Times!
Ghouls of the internet welcome to the one and only Hivemind Times. This is your loyal friend Graydon writing from a cafe on the east side.
Things have been oh so strange but the weather has been back hot outside so I’ve been recreating as much good stuff as I possibly can. It’s been a pretty emotional week as well with the Myles trade and what have you. There are two new Cheap Seats vids if you want to see us predict the finals and react to the trade. Also some new Unlimited heat in the form of movie frame game and TV feud for all my media fans out there. The break on the main channel will be rewarded in a big ol way so you'll just remain nice and patient and I promise it’ll pay off.
I hope this letter finds you well and there’s something worth enjoying, have a great weekend!

WEEKLY PLAYLIST
Jangly 80s/90s stuff from mostly over the pond.
Mostly all new songs to me in a genre I love to explore. I can always get lost in Brit pop from the 80s because there's just so much we haven’t been exposed to over here and this era specifically has such a summery vibe to so much of it despite coming from such a gray place.

TRAVEL
Graydon: Off on a fishing trip.
Location: Inland lake in the Upper Peninsula
Current Water temp: 52 degrees
Target Species: Small Mouth Bass, Walleye, Pike, Largemouth Bass, Perch, Salmon, Trout
Tackle: Water vegetation dependent but most likely. Rapalla, Smithwick, Spinners, Buzz baits, Glides and always jig tubes. If it’s weedy we will opt for Texas and Carolina rigs and the sheer will of god.
5 full days of fishing should equal a large haul that I am excited to report back with.

POEM OF THE WEEK
Gary Snyder (1930-)
Old Woman Nature
Old Woman Nature
naturally has a bag of bones
tucked away somewhere.
a whole room full of bones!
A scattering of hair and cartilage
bits in the woods.
A fox scat with hair and a tooth in it.
a shellmound
a bone flake in a streambank.
A purring cat, crunching
the mouse head first,
eating on down toward the tail--
The sweet old woman
calmly gathering firewood in the
moon . . .
Don't be shocked,
She's heating you some soup
RECIPES
Carne Asada!

Ingredients:
Flank or skirt steak (1 lb)
Jalapeño (1, deseeded if you prefer less spice)
Garlic (6 cloves)
Fresh cilantro (1/3 bunch)
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1 orange
Maggi jugo (2 tbsp)
Olive oil (2 tbsp)
Salt (1 tsp)
Black pepper (1 tsp)
Onion powder (1 tsp)
Garlic powder (1 tsp)
Cumin (1 tsp)
Oregano (1 tsp)
Chili powder (1 tsp)
Instructions:
Finely chop the jalapeño, garlic, and cilantro. Add them to a bowl with the lime juice, orange juice, maggi jugo, olive oil, and seasonings. Mix well.
Place the steak in a ziploc bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours.
Remove the steak from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Grill over medium-high heat for 7-10 minutes total, flipping once. If you don’t have a grill, cook it in a heavy-bottomed pan on the stovetop using the same heat and timing.
Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then thinly slice against the grain.
Serve on its own or with tortillas and sides like salsa, guacamole, or coleslaw.
*Substitute parsley for cilantro if you have the soap gene.
*Substitute soy sauce for maggi jugo if you don’t have it.
