Weekend watch recos + answering who would be your animal buddy
Welcome To The Hivemind Times!
Happy Friday troops, it's your general Graydon Weaver here reporting from the spookiest place on Earth. No one asked, but just so you know, Michigan's snow has begun to melt and for some reason this year it is toxic and creating an insane fog.
Besides being seemingly polluted by some sort of government psyop we have had a pretty great week over here at HQ, we have released the behemoth of the best rap songs of the 21st century this week. There is some fun on Patreon and a valiant return to the stream to fill your mouth too.
Enjoy your weekend gang.

WEEKLY PLAYLIST
Hey guys, it’s Grant.
Every year I make a playlist of the ‘best’ songs of the current year. I’ve linked it here below so you can follow along as I add songs throughout 2026. I’ve also linked an empty playlist collab link that you can add your favorite songs of 2026 to throughout the year.
Together we will turn over every stone of music this year has to offer and not miss a single thing.
MOVIE REVIEW
Weekend Watches
The Secret Agent (2025) - Dir. Kleber Mendonça Filho

We get a look into the authoritative regime in Brazil in 1977 through the lens of a former researcher/technology professor who has gone on the run.
Wagner Moura plays this political refugee in his own nation. Through flashbacks and flash forwards we feel the walls of the regime close in on Marcelo as he struggles to maintain a presence in his son’s life. Marcelo is also on a mission of his own to discover the document of his birth mother which is more of a challenge than it may seem.
This film was intimate in such a skillful way. The era felt very real and lived in and honestly the amount of story that was packed in made the hefty runtime (2hr43min) feel efficient.

Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) - Dir. Glenn Ficarra & John Requa

Steve Carrel discovers how to become a real man by using the training of skilled playboy and certified hard body Ryan Gosling.
Divorce isn’t easy on anyone especially if you’re a romantic teenage boy in love with a babysitter who loves your dad. Julianne Moore provides a pretty great performance with support from slimy Kevin Bacon who, like a vulture, tries to pick apart the carcass of a failed marriage. Emma Stone saves the forsaken soul of Gosling by making him laugh and asking him questions about his folks.
Culminating is what amounts to one of the most epic rom com “battles” I’ve ever seen. I was pleasantly surprised. And yes I had never seen it.

POEM OF THE WEEK
Khalil Gibran (1883-1931)
Song Of The Rain VII
I am dotted silver threads dropped from heaven
By the gods. Nature then takes me, to adorn
Her fields and valleys.
I am beautiful pearls, plucked from the
Crown of Ishtar by the daughter of Dawn
To embellish the gardens.
When I cry the hills laugh;
When I humble myself the flowers rejoice;
When I bow, all things are elated.
The field and the cloud are lovers
And between them I am a messenger of mercy.
I quench the thirst of one;
I cure the ailment of the other.
The voice of thunder declares my arrival;
The rainbow announces my departure.
I am like earthly life, which begins at
The feet of the mad elements and ends
Under the upraised wings of death.
I emerge from the heard of the sea
Soar with the breeze. When I see a field in
Need, I descend and embrace the flowers and
The trees in a million little ways.
I touch gently at the windows with my
Soft fingers, and my announcement is a
Welcome song. All can hear, but only
The sensitive can understand.
The heat in the air gives birth to me,
But in turn I kill it,
As woman overcomes man with
The strength she takes from him.
I am the sigh of the sea;
The laughter of the field;
The tears of heaven.
So with love -
Sighs from the deep sea of affection;
Laughter from the colorful field of the spirit;
Tears from the endless heaven of memories.
