CRONKS UPDATE

“What does Cronk do?”

People have been asking, “What does Cronk do?” So today, in a very special segment of Hivemind Times, I’m going to give you a rundown of a typical day at the Hivemind office. I was originally hired as a Script Writer, though after getting hired, I was informed the show is improvised. This has left me with some of the more important tasks to ensure a high-quality performance.

4:00 AM: Arrive at the office. It's a 2-hour drive from my house, so I am wide awake when I get here. I get right to repainting the yellow wall green as we are filming a second channel video today.

4:15 AM: Take a break.

8:00 AM: Pledge of Allegiance.

8:05 AM: Run wires.

9:00 AM: Bathroom time.

4:11 PM: Foot rub time.

5:46 PM: Do my own thing.

5:59 PM: Have a shot with Graydon.

6:00 PM: Court.

6:18 PM: Run wires.

11:30 PM: It's garbage day (every day). Let’s collect scrap metal!

11:43 PM: Drop scrap metal off at the junkyard.

VIDEO GAMES

Favorite Minecraft Mods

I’ve been playing a little Minecraft with my dudes and decided I would lay out my favorite mods setup for the optimal vanilla Minecraft experience. I tried not to change the gameplay too much but we had to spice things up a little.

Server Mods / Data Packs

GeyserMC - This one makes it so Hunter, Jashawn, and Gavin who play on bedrock, can join our java server. Love it.

VanillaTweaks.net - These guys compiled some great data packs that can run on a server without anyone needing any client side mods. Then our bedrock people can use them too. There's so many you gotta check it out -  it's badass.

My faves from here include:

  • Graves - all your loot when you die gets put into a tombstone that you can go collect at ANY time

  • Chat player colors - oh ya, very fun

  • Custom Nether Portals - any size, any shape. You can go through that shit into the nether. Very fun. Very cool.

  • Coordinates HUD - easy on screen coords for the java players

Client Side Mods

Bobby - This one is majorrrrr. It saves server chunks locally so that you can have a view distance that is much further than the limited distance a multiplayer server allows. Bigtime.

Distance horizons - Lets you see even further than the game allows by rendering the distant chunks lower quality. It's amazing really, changes your life.

Iris - Shaders on fabric!! Wow, the shaders are the real deal nowadays. Internetboy is the real expert when it comes to the shaders - here’s what he had to say:

  • Yooooo! My favorite mod would easily have to be the natural lighting that comes alongside the Bliss shaders pack. If you are holding a torch in your hand... the area around you lights up! It just makes sense. I've always loved little things like that in video games, they always make or break it for me. I also really hope Tony can add the big tree mod one day, that thing looks pretty wild.

Sodium! - I've been playing on my old potato laptop. This makes the game run so so much better. Absolute game changer.

There’s honestly so many more - let me know if you wanna hear about it.

INTERVIEW TIME!

RECIPES

Crock-Pot Jumbo Gumbo

Soup Sundays are a staple for me and the gang during the fall/winter season and I was eager to get back to it this past week. We worked in the early afternoon on an exciting collaboration for the main channel so I was rushed to get back and get this gumbo going so it was ready by 8.

What you need…

A Crock-Pot (old people optional)
Andouille sausage
Chicken thighs
Shrimp
A bell pepper
Celery
An onion
Diced tomatoes (big can)
2 cans of red beans
A carrot
Serrano pep
Anaheim pepper (or other mildly spicy / dry pep)
Thyme
Garlic
Creole seasoning
Cheeky half stick of butter
Some brown rice
Big fresh bread

What you’ll do…

  1. I pan sear the chicken first to get a crisp outer layer and speed along the process

  2. Combine everything into your Crockpot on high for like 3 ½ hours

  3. Fire up the brown rice about half an hour before that 4 hour mark

  4. Toss your shrimp in the final 15 minutes WITH the shells on for flavor

  5. I like a fresh jalapeno for garnish

If you have the time, put it on low for an additional hour or two and as always this will taste better the next day.
