VIDEO GAMES

I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole this past week. I got my hands on an old phat model PS3, which I have absolutely modded the piss out of. I also put in a solid-state hard drive and filled it with ROMs (free, stolen games).

What’s badass about the PS3 is that it can play most PS2 and PS1 games if you mod it. When the PS3 first launched, one of its selling points was full backward compatibility with PS2 and PS1 games. Originally, they achieved this by including actual PS2 hardware inside the PS3. For some reason, they phased that out and moved over to software emulation — and then eventually dropped that entirely. But with modding, you can re-enable the backwards compatibility features.

If you’ve never experienced a modded console, the PS3 is a great place to start. There are tons of good videos on YouTube, and all you really need is a flash drive. There’s just something so satisfying about stealing games and playing them for free. 10/10 would recommend.

RECIPES

BANG BANG SHRAAAMP

This shit goes bonkers as a sexy lil app for your pals…

First step get some good shrimp (peel em and devein em yourself coward).

Make da sawceee. Japanese mayo, Thai sweet chili, sriracha.

Pop 'em in a bowl of buttermilk and let ‘em chill/tenderize for 10 mins.

Make some batter out of cornstarch, salt, garlic powder, and black pep.

Get a deep pan ripping hot with a pool of oil.

Fry them bugs about a minute and a half a side. Don’t overcrowd the oil or they won’t get crispaay.

Then hit 'em with the sauce and garnish with a green onion because you deserve it all!
