Welcome To The Hivemind Times!

What is up my fellow freaks? It’s your boy Dr. Weaver here and I’m excited to be writing to you today. First Bengal video has been given to you this week. How'd ya like it? Hope you did, we got more to come.

Anywho, we should have some fun stuff in this week's Times. Grant is back with a big time article about gaming (you been peeping his streams?), I'm definitely writing some bs about the Oscar noms and how I got snubbed yet again, and maybe some other surprise appearances from your beloved team members here at Hivemind HQ.

Hope everyone in the south is surviving and enjoying the snow, and for everyone else I extend wishes of health and prosperity. Let's get into this stuff.

Graydon’s Oscar Reactions

Initial thoughts are that The Brutalist dominates. Have I seen it? NO. I will though, and my trusted sources believe it to be written.

What I have seen is Anora, A Real Pain, Dune, Nosferatu <3, The Substance, and Gladiator 2 lol.

I will be watching Conclave, Sing Sing, and Wicked before the awards though, don’t worry.

Random thought Anora is thriving on late season momentum and if you switched the release date with Challengers the noms might be switched as well. Both good movies but I thought Challengers was probably better. I am an amateur and a sucker though, so hey.

I’ll tell ya what I am most excited for though, it’s to see my dog Conan hosting this MF’er - god I love him and I will be watching in full.

Please berate me with your unfounded opinions via IG and maybe I’ll watch some of the shit you all suggest. GO MOVIES!

The Final Four

Chiefs taking on the Bills and the surprise Commanders take on the boring old Eagles.

I hope and pray we get a Commanders vs Bills SB but my rotten little gut thinks it will most likely be Eagles vs Chiefs with the Chiefs winning by a last second field goal aided by a late pass interference call on DHop. I will be betting on a Pat Mahomes SB MVP in 5 minutes. I want this evil empire to end as much as the next person but I just don’t see it happening this year. Shout out Jayden for putting together the greatest rookie season of all time.

The gaming Twitch channel is officially live… and that can only mean one thing… the Twitch channel is officially live… twitch.tv/hivemindgrant

If you follow me on the photo posting app you might have caught a story or two of me saying that I clicked go live on Twitch. I’ve been live at least 3 times now playing Marvel Rivals, competing at the highest level. The soft launch phase is officially over, it’s time to crank it up a notch. I posted a poll in here a couple weeks ago with 5 different games I haven’t played yet, and you guys voted for me to give Red Dead Redemption 2 a spin. THIS SATURDAY I will be live with a country accent toting a revolver in a virtual dust bowl. If you haven’t seen the first couple streams here’s what you missed out on:

Lastly, and to reiterate some things I’ve said in earlier newsletters, this stream will evolve a lot. After only going live a handful of times, I didn’t realize I would enjoy it as much as I have. Look forward to numerous different types of content from me over there… new video games, live 2025 album reactions, Premier League watchalongs, youtube vods/ videos and much much more (this time I’m telling the truth).

LIVE SHOW REVIEW

Shane Gillis Live

OK, I know I promised a review of the Shane Gillis show that we went and saw in Cinci last weekend and I will give a brief one, but to be honest, I was disappointed and won’t be going into grueling detail. Seemed like a bad political time to see someone who can be rather flippant with sensitive social issues and I found myself cringing more often than I would have liked. There were still some bangers but he teetered on some Chappellisms and overall poor taste.

I got a real kick out of the openers. Tommy Pope, who is a cast member of Shane’s show Tires, was the first and oddly enough just performed in Detroit at Sam Tallent’s showcase, which if you are in the area on Wednesdays, is a must see. Matt McCusker was the other opener, who is the co-host on Shane’s podcast. His set was bordering brilliant, he was truly in a groove and I wish he had gotten an hour.

Whatever, kind of a let down and maybe if you were on the fence about going to this run of Shane shows maybe wait for the more polished special. Maybe I was in a shit mood, idk. Don’t take my word as holy but that’s just the way I felt leaving.
