Hivemind Times Issue #11
Welcome To The Hivemind Times!
What's up! You’re reading the Hivemind Times and frankly we’re running outta stuff to talk about. So much so, I let Copes talk in this one, Cronk is rambling about his drum set, Tony is back with a playlist, and Riley is too afraid to publish the first draft of his memoir that he has been working on.
Anyway, there are some exciting tidbits in here and I hope ya’ll are enjoying the spooky season as much as we are. As always, one love.

New Copes Drop
What’s poppin’ y’all, Copes here. I was suppose to have a BIG interview in this weeks Hivemind Times but got demoted to a “think piece". Way she goes. Anyways, I’m here to tell you guys about the new merch collection we just dropped. We got Pulled Pork Park, we got Gabapentin, we got the much anticipated Duck design. Out with the fish, in with the duck. Seriously though, take a peak it’s a great spread and there’s something for everyone.
If you’re broke, it’s okay, the holiday season is coming soon so tell grandma to go to copes.shop. If you don’t celebrate the holidays maybe rake some leaves or sell some feet pics - I’m not really sure what Hivemind fans do for bread. Anyways, thank you everyone who got something. If you have any questions about the products you can always hit my @copes.shop instagram.
Much cherish and goodnight.

ALBUM RECS
If you haven’t already caught on, I have a very eclectic taste for music. This week we got you an album so smooth it’ll roll off the tip of your tongue. Todd Rundren’s “Something/Anything” is highly regarded as one of the best albums in the early 70’s, with Couldn’t I just Tell You setting the tone for the Power Pop genre.
Also fun fact: Todd Rundgren has collaborated with the likes of Trent Reznor, Rivers Cuomo, and Ye.

CRONK’S UPDATE
Cronk’s drumkit
As I sit in this dark, dingy jail cell pending trial, I'm reminiscing about my music gear collection. To me, vintage drum kits and cymbals are like baseball cards or coin collections. This week, I'll be breaking down my drum kit, which I've spent years putting together.
The shells (the drums themselves) are a late 1970s Ludwig Maple Cortex Round Badge kit, with sizes 12, 13, 16, and 22 inches. I bought the kit in 2018 for $300 from a local music shop, though it was in rough shape. During the summer of 2020, amid the pandemic, I drove halfway across Michigan to Jacksonville to have the drum edges recut at Virtue Drum Shop. This restored the kit to its factory 1970s sound.
I have two snare drums that I really love. One is an early 1970s Ludwig Supraphonic—the most recorded snare drum in history—that I found in a friend's garage back in high school. It's completely messed up and doesn’t stay in tune, but it’s my life’s mission to get it right. The snare drum I use most is the Pork Pie Big Black Brass 6.5 x 14-inch, which is a clone of the Ludwig Black Beauty.
My hi-hats are 13-inch vintage Zildjian New Beats, which I believe are from the early 1970s. My ride is a matching 20-inch light ride. I love these cymbals, but I'm hoping to get some more modern K Customs soon.
Do you like drums too, or did you simply skip past this section of the newsletter? Let me know in the comments below!

VIDEO GAMES
Squirrel With a Gun
I did finally get Squirrel with a Gun and I think I need help beating it. Granted, aimlessly running around has brought me so much joy. It's too hard, there's too many puzzles and I keep getting distracted by killing civilians. Honestly, it reminds me of the old Spongebob game in a weird way. But if you bought it too and you won hmu.
3 outta 5 stars.
